Shri Ram Temple is the major Hindu Temple which is currently situated in Uttar Pradesh(Ayodhya) and under construction . In January 2024 it’s first floor is become ready and on 22 January 2024 our idol Shri Ram will be bless in it.
The temple is located at what is believed to be the birthplace of Shri Ram, the principal deity of Hinduism. Earlier, the site was occupied by the Babri Masjid, which was constructed after demolishing an existing un-Islamic structure. In 2019, the Supreme Court of India ruled on the disputed land, stating that the land belongs to Hindus, who can build a Ram temple on it.
Muslims will be given a separate piece of land to build a mosque. The court cited as evidence a report by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), which found an un-Islamic structure beneath the demolished Babri Masjid. Evidence was provided to suggest the presence.
Bhoomipujan to begin the construction of Shri Ram temple was performed on 5 August 2020. The temple currently under construction is being maintained by Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust. The inauguration of Shri Ram temple is scheduled on 22 January 2024.
Ancient and medieval
Shri Ram is considered a Hindu God, who is the incarnation of Vishnu. According to the ancient Indian epic, Ramayana, Shri Ram was born in Ayodhya(Uttar Pradesh).
In the 16th century, Babur attacked and destroyed the temple in his series of attacks on temples throughout northern India. Later, the Mughals built a mosque, the Babri Masjid, which is believed to be the site of Shri Ram’s birthplace, Ram Janmabhoomi.
Modern Era
On the night of 22–23 December 1949, the idols of Shri Ram and Mata Sita were lay down inside the Babri Masjid and devotees started gathering from the next day. By 1950, the state took control of the mosque under the Section 145 of the CrPC and allowed Hindus, not Muslims, to worship at the place.
Only after the Supreme Court decision on the Ayodhya dispute in 2019, it was decided that the disputed land would be handed over to the trust formed by the Government of India for the construction of Ram Temple. The trust was eventually formed under the name of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra.
On 5 February 2020, it was announced in the Parliament of India that the Government of India had accepted the plan for the construction of the temple. Two days later, on 7 February, five acres of land was allotted to build 22 new mosques in Dhannipur village away from Ayodhya.
The idol of Ram Lalla for the Ayodhya Ram temple was selected through a voting process on 29 December 2023. Karnataka sculptor Arun Yogiraj created the idol of Ram.
Construction
Ram Lalla Virajman, the infant form of Shri Ram, an incarnation of Vishnu ji, is the presiding deity of the temple.
Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Tirtha Kshetra started the first phase of construction of Shri Ram Mandir in March 2020. However, the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown in India following the 2020 China–India clashes led to the temporary suspension of construction.
During leveling and excavation of the construction site, a Shivalinga, pillars , and broken statues were found. On 25 March 2020, the idol of Lord Shri Ram was disclosed in the presence of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Moved to a temporary location.
